Who can come?

If you’re the parent or guardian of a child with a qualified special need or a life threatening medical condition and you care for your child full time at home, you are welcome to stay at Restore Place.

How do I qualify?

You will need to provide physician documentation of your child’s diagnosis as well as your child’s current IEP (if applicable).  Once your documentation is received and evaluated, you will be contacted with further instructions.

How long can I stay?

We offer a two night stay.

How often can I come?

You are welcome to reapply once each year. In order to serve as many families as possible, after your third visit you will be limited to a one night stay each year or two nights every other year, as long as your child still qualifies. Our desire is that after realizing the benefits of self-care, our guests will begin initiating the process of caring for themselves by regularly scheduling their own time away.

When is check-in?

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. although we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

What kind of program do you offer?

There are no mandatory meetings, classes, or group events during your stay at Restore Place. Our goal is to provide you an opportunity to unplug from life, plug into God, and restore and build your relationship with your spouse. We are available during your stay to listen and encourage you to continue with the task of leading and loving your family.

How much does it cost?

Accommodations to Restore Place are offered to qualified caregivers free of charge, expenses being underwritten by the generous support of donors. This covers the cost of your room, breakfast, dinner out and several other amenities.

What if I have to cancel?

We understand that life is not always predictable. Please give us as much notice as possible so we can fill the vacancy. Because our schedule normally fills up quickly, we cannot promise to reschedule you right away, but if you cancel for a legitimate reason, we will do our best!

Can I bring my children?

No.  Restore Place is designed for caregivers to get away and be recharged.

Who will watch my children?

You will be responsible to find appropriate care for your children. Many of our guests utilize family members or friends; others find caregivers through schools and agencies they are connected to or by networking with other parents.

Are there any funds available to help with childcare?

No.  Not at this time.

Are your locations handicapped accessible?

In many cases, yes.  Please reach out to the individual location to confirm.

Am I allowed to smoke?

No. Because many of our guests are very sensitive to the odor of smoke, we ask that you refrain from smoking while staying at Restore Place.

What are some ways I can support someone who will stay at Restore Place?

Listen. Remind your loved ones that it is absolutely okay to need a break. Oftentimes, caregivers feel guilty for wanting time for themselves. Remind them that most of the time, it will make them better caregivers when they get home. Offer to care for their children or pets while they are away. Donate to the Restore Place to help cover the expense of their getaway. Help pay for their travel expenses if they are coming a long distance.

How do I make reservations?

Please fill out our online reservation form and we will contact you regarding your visit. If you prefer to talk directly with us, please call us at 770-693-1462.
